OVERNIGHT OATS

I am not going to lie to you guys ... I have never been a crazy fan of oats or oatmeal, something about the texture just really throws me off. HOWEVER, I was at the juice bar while I was home over the weekend and decided to grab their overnight oats and absolutely loved it! I seriously ate the entire thing it was so delicious. When I came back to school, I decided I wanted to try it out and make some myself and share it with all of you!

My inspiration for this recipe came from Pinterest. Here is the link if you're interested in checking it out: https://lifemadesweeter.com/overnight-oats-8-ways/. I highly recommend checking out the link to the recipe because it has 9 different ways to make overnight oats! That's also one of the reasons why I love overnight oats now because there are so many different ways to make them!

INGREDIENTS:
- 1/2 cup of quick oats
- 2/3 cup of almond milk
- 1-2 tablespoons of almond butter
- 1-2 teaspoons of pure maple syrup
- 1/4 cup of blueberries
- 1/2 of a banana
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- Toppings:
    - 1/2 of a banana
    - 1 tablespoon banana
    - 1 tablespoon of organic cacao nibs
    - 1 table spoon of almond butter

I combined the quick oats, almond milk, pure maple syrup, blueberries, and cinnamon in a mason jar. I like to use my mason jars because I can seal them up with a lid, but you can use whatever container you have. I then added in about a tablespoon of almond butter and half a banana. I gave the jar a nice shake and set it in the fridge to sit overnight.

The next morning I dumped everything in the mason jar into a small bowl and then added my toppings. I sliced and added about half of a banana and then added some almond butter. I find it easier to spread any type of nut butter when you microwave it for about 30 seconds to a minute. I then finished off my overnight oats with adding some organic cacao nibs!

I was pleasantly surprised of how good it turned out! I even made an extra one for one of my roommates and she loved it as well. Highly recommend trying out this recipe or one of the other recipes in the link I shared above. Enjoy :)

  1. I'm trying to become more of a breakfast person so hopefully this helps. I've seen a lot of different recipes for overnight oats, but I'm excited to try this one. Thanks for the idea!
